Arts United for Davidson County
A visit to Arts United for Davidson County in Lexington is also a visit to the historic ‘Old’ Post Office. This beautiful Neo-Classical building built in 1911 is part of the Historic Uptown Lexington National Register District. It features six Tuscan entrance columns and a restored front lobby with original classical details. A sponsoring organization for local activities in the performing, literary and visual arts, Arts United also has two galleries, class space, and a gift shop featuring work by local and regional artists. In the gift shop you’ll find hammered sterling silver jewelry, beaded crystal and gemstone jewelry, pottery, wood turnings, paintings, books of poetry, hand-painted glassware and much more!

Gaddy Covered Bridge
NC's newest covered bridge. Located in Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge, the bridge was built to serve as a blind to observe waterfowl.

Seagrove Area
The Seagrove area is one of the largest communities of potters with the longest continual history of pottery making in the United States. Today visitors can explore the rural landscape by back roads and visit the potters in their workshops and studios, to witness the Seagrove potters continuing the tradition of making pots. The area is home to more than 100 potters who offer a full spectrum of pottery and ceramic art. With a diversity of talents, Seagrove has something to offer both the serious collector and the casual buyer. The Seagrove area offers the visitor an opportunity to learn about North Carolina’s ongoing pottery culture.

Oakboro Cruise-In cruise-in

See cars, trucks, shop, eat, etc. . Open every 4th Fri. 5 p.m. until. The Cruise-In has been featured in Car Craft Magazine, Nomad Magazine and a documentary, Burnout, was created in 2005 by a Charlotte-based movie-maker. Local shops and restaurants stay open late the evening of the event for added enjoyment. The area features family-style restaurants, upscale dining, a sub and pizza shop, Mexican restaurant, antiques and hobby shop.
