Central Park Region

Welcome to Central ParkWelcome to Central Park

Our small towns are nestled in the forests and near pastures of the ancient Uwharrie Mountains. Our eight counties are joined by the Yadkin-Pee Dee River and its chain of sparkling lakes. We live in close proximity to numerous growing metropolitan areas - Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, NC and Spartanburg and Florence SC - yet enjoy a quality and pace of life that sets us worlds apart.

This website is for visitors to discover some of what the area has to offer.  Click on the circular symbols below the banner picture with the Central Park logo to explore places to shop and dine, browse photos of the region, or uncover hidden gems along one of the many scenic byways in the region.

Before traveling to the
Central Park region you may want to learn more about its storied history, music, and literary heritage by consulting the tab marked "Before You Hit the Road".  Check out your extensive options for an active lifestyle under "Outdoor Recreation" and consider making it an overnight visit by clicking on "Places to Stay and Eat" and learning more about the many bed and breakfasts in the region.  "Regional Attractions" and "Historic" give an overview of some of the many activities you can enjoy during your visit to the Central Park.

The "Live & Work" page is currently being developed as a gateway for the stream of new entrepreneurs that are making the area's economy vibrant while enjoying all the benefits of idyllic rural living.  Check back with us in the coming months to learn more about the business opportunities cropping up throughout the region.
